Excellent Result for Oticon Epoq XW

I was asked to go and see a lady who already had hearing aids whom I shall call BB.  Now BB already had hearing aids from a national supplier but had always felt that she lacked clarity, struggled very much in back ground noise and had asked me to go along to see if I could reprogramme and improve on them.  I noted that they were Siemens hearing aids and assumed that I could programme them, HOWEVER, I couldn't!!! I phoned Siemens and asked them why not and they advised me that this company sold their own range of aids whom no other dispenser could programme!!!  I was amazed and outraged as when a client purchases a hearing aid it becomes their property, and if they prefer to use another dispenser they should be allowed to.  Unfortunately this company ties you in to them as without going back to them you can never get your aids altered!!  Beware of this and if you would like to know which company please call and I will advise.

Back to BB, we discussed new technology and what it could achieve and this spritely 87 year old is extremely bright and capable and loves her life and felt that she could achieve better, as did her children.  We went ahead with Oticon Epoq XW which we fitted 3 days ago and wow what a result.  I went back today with the remote control called a streamer as I didn't want to bamboozle BB with everything in one visit so have staged her aftercare.

BB tells me that she had family around on Monday and she heard everything they all said.  She also watched the news and heard everything and a great love of BB's is music and I think her expression when she heard music for the first time through Epoq will stay in mine and her daughters mind forever as the look of sheer bliss went over her face and she said "ooooh thats beautiful".

I have to commend BB on her fabulous attitude to technology and her perseverance with poor eyesight to read the instruction book with a magnifying glass, and her lovely family who totally support her love for life, but also commend Oticon on their fantastic contribution to hearing aids with the new Epoq range of aids....wow what a result.
