Outstanding New Hearing Aids
We were at the launch of the latest GN Resound hearing aids just lately. They have just updated their Made For iPhone hearing aids. Their latest range is called the Linx 3D. With the introduction of the hearing aids they have also introduced upgraded features as you would expect. The hearing aids themselves seem to be outstanding, but funnily enough, they aren't the whole story. Resound have introduced something else alongside them that will probably change how we look after our customers for ever. Let's talk about the LiNX 3D.
The LiNX 3D Made For iPhone hearing aid range is a full model range with custom hearing aids, receiver in canal hearing aids and behind the ear hearing aids. The range also covers hearing losses from mild to severe, so they pretty much have something for everyone. It is also available in three levels of hearing aid technology, the LiNX 3D 9, the LiNX 3D 7 and the LiNX 3D 5.
As you would expect, the new range is an improvement on the last one. Having said that, the last range of Made For iPhone hearing aids from GN Resound was a pretty good range. However, Resound have made some interesting claims about the new range:
- It is up to 50% better at identifying speech across various environments
- It enables users to hear up to 80% more of the sounds around them, and
- It enables users to understand up to 40% more speech in noise
What's interesting is that those stats are against other premium manufacturers hearing aids. They tested the devices against top of the range hearing devices from other brands and that's what they found. One of the things that stood out to us during the demonstration of the hearing aids was the sense of spatial awareness that they delivered. Most of the manufacturers now deliver good localisation of sound and these aids are definitely no different. Like I said, there was some new features to talk about so let's do that.
Binaural Directionality III
This is GN Resound's latest directionality strategy and it is built on and a further upgrade to, what they have been doing before. It works through continuous information exchange between the hearing aids which allows the optimal directionality in the hearing aids for the situation you are in. It is this feature that allows you to hear who or what you want when in noisy situations.
This feature combines and preserves natural sound cues so that the brain has the optimal and most normal information for localisation of sound and spatial awareness.
Binaural Environmental Optimizer II
This feature allows both hearing devices to combine their power to analyse the listening environment you are in. It then automatically adjusts both hearing aids to deliver the best sound experience for you.
Noise Tracker II
This is a unique noise reduction system that GN us, it works on the basis of spectral subtraction. It will reduce unwanted noise without affecting speech.
DFS Ultra II With Music Mode
Nobody likes their hearing aid whistling, this is a high precision feedback system that allows the cancellation of feedback with extreme accuracy. TMusic however can be similar to true feedback, so the Music mode is a slower acting system which allows better handling of music.
For us this was an amazing part of the story, the hearing aids are fantastic, really excellent. However, Resound Assist will allow us to change how we care for our customers. The system allows us to adjust your hearing aids remotely. That means that for the first time, if you want adjustments on the go, we can look after you without you having to attend the clinic. The system itself is part of the Smart app and it is really easy to use.
We know that this type of service might not be for everyone but we think that it allows us to offer a better service level to the people who would like it. It gives choice and will allow you freedom over your customer experience.
The App, Resound Smart 3D
Resound have launched a new accompanying app which will allow you to personalise your hearing experience. It has been designed to be intuitive and easy to use. It offers real control over your hearing aids allowing you to make changes to how they work as you move around your life.
