The sixth-largest manufacturer in the world, WIDEX was started in 1956 as a joint venture by the Danish Tøpholm and Westermann families and remains a family business to this day. Ever since their inception, they have had a continual passion for novelty and original thinking.

This culminated in 1996 as they introduced the world’s first commercially available 100% digital in-the-ear hearing aid – the SENSO – based on the research model of fellow Danes Oticon. At the time, the SENSO was light years ahead of the rest of the market and became the standard by which others would follow.

Later in 2010, this success was followed up by the first-ever hearing aid designed specifically for babies with the BABY 440. The high-quality sound and minuscule size would foreshadow their innovations to come. Then, in 2018, the company launched the WIDEX Evoke, the first hearing aid to incorporate machine learning technology.

Events came full circle when, a decade after the BABY 440 in 2020, WIDEX released their now-flagship hearing aid, the WIDEX MOMENT™ – the smallest rechargeable lithium-ion hearing aid in the world. Can I stream sound from my android phone directly to my hearing aids?

If you would like to stream directly to android, then the COM-DEX solution will be needed to do so. This involves purchasing accessories that are able to bridge the connection from your hearing aid to your mobile device. Widex is solely made for iphone mobiles as standard.

Can I control my default streaming to my car's bluetooth system?

No. The iPhone (iOS) decides the default routing of the audio streaming automatically and currently does not provide a setting for users to change the default. You can however, turn off Bluetooth in the EVOKE App and then connect to the Bluetooth system in your car to stream phone calls or music.

What is SoundSense Learn?

SoundSense Learn optimises your hearing experience in a given sound environment. Whenever you encounter sound environments where you would like to optimise the sound, go to SoundSense Learn and follow the simple instructions. Compare two different sound profiles, indicate which one you like more, and then let SoundSense Learn calculate your preference. The more comparisons you do, the more SoundSense Learn will learn about your preferences. You can then save the settings as a program and use them whenever you would like. SoundSense Learn is exclusively available on selected Evoke hearing aids (440, 330, 220).
